Quality, quantity and variety of the breakfast items was phenomenal. There was also an onsite "panty" where you could purchase some basic meal prep items, like pasta and rice, prepackaged foods, as well as beverages and snacks. There was even a little library of tour books to view. Staff were overwhelmingly friendly and helpful, there was always someone present to answer questions or restock items like tea bags and bottles of water. Felt very safe there as a solo traveller, as there was always at least one person in the entrance area, key was required to enter after 8 pm, and key was required to operate elevator. Despite facing a busy road, room was exceptionally soundproof. Appreciated having wood floors in the room instead of grotty carpeting. Bed and pillows were really comfortable with a quality thick duvet. Nice thick towels in the bathroom, although FYI no washcloths. Toiletries supplied were exceptional. Lots of individual lighting options controlled by a touch screen wall panel. The floor to ceiling windows made room bright and cheery, with a room darkening mechanically controlled blind for night time. Kitchenette was really well stocked with cooking utensils, dishes, pots and pans. For a compact room it held a lot of features, but that also meant some were high up (for short people like me), for example the safe and microwave/oven and access to the coffee maker. Not a criticism so much as just something to note. Also travelers should be aware that the hotel is situated at the base of Edinburgh castle, so surrounded by rather steep upward-sloped cobblestone streets and many long runs of staircases. Within a block, the neighborhood had a huge variety of pubs and restaurants, upscale tourist shops as well as well stocked grocery stores.

The location is perfect. Comfortable rooms, well equipped with everything you needed to semi make your own meals. All was great & staff were the nicest & most helpful. Staff at Wilde know how to treat their guest right. Amy with her big bright smile, daily greetings & eagarness to help and make guest feel at home. Stewart took the cake by booking us an Uber & paying for it so we would not miss our train, because it was snowing outside & the cab had not arrived. we offered to pay him back but he said just go," I do not want you to miss your train." We did not miss it, thanks to Stewart. I noticed Stewart making some tea for an old grandma, earlier at breakfast, at the same time, taking care of her grandson, also giving him a small jug of milk to carry back to his grandma so she could have it with her tea. Very sweet, all the while, talking to the young boy & asking him questions. This is type of hospitality is hard to find, Wilde either has chosen well or taught their staff extremely well. However it never felt, like it was put on, they genuinely cared. These two did not seem to be doing this as a job, they were enjoying caring for their guest, they were genuine & took time to get to know the guest they were serving at the hotel. Cheers to these two, so appreciated. We will want to come & stay at Wilde again & again. We did not get photos with these two delightful people so... Next time!!!

My sister and I stayed at the Wilde hotel for about a week over Christmas and had an amazing experience. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly, especially the manager Stewart, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The rooms are well designed with convenience in mind— there were drawers that pulled out from under the bed for luggage storage and a little kitchen with basic cooking dishes, plates and even a little dishwasher. They also had a Nespresso machine, mini fridge, toaster and microwave oven — and provided to-go cups. All of it was well organized and fit into a small but efficient space. The location is super walkable to everything in the old city and also very quiet for being so close to the castle! The breakfast was delicious as well and the it was easy to cast our phones to the tv to watch movies. We will definitely stay here next time we’re in Edinburgh!

We loved everything from the start to the end of our staying. Everything was just perfect.. A little bit romantic too... The view was stunning we could see the side of the castle.. The room had literally everything and more.. The design of the entire building is just beatiful and modern. The staff always available for anything you need and also everyone is just lovely. Wilde is just in the perfect spot! You can visit everything by foot: the castle, national museum of Scotland, Victoria Street, Ross fountain, new and old city, Dean Village, Arthur's Seat... And so on we visited everything in 3 days... And also there's a lot of options when it comes to Gluten free!! Thank you Wilde!

First of all, the hotel room was bigger than we expected. I don't know if it was bigger because we upgraded or if it was the normal room. But it was almost the size of a small house. The staff was very helpful. The hotel and rooms were generally very clean. There were all kinds of kitchenware, a refrigerator, an oven and even a dishwasher. The hotels we usually stay in rarely exceed our expectations. This hotel definitely exceeded our expectations! And I must say that the shampoo and shower gel that smelled like sage were wonderful. I wish there was a section in the hotel where you sell these products. Maybe there was, but I didn't see it. I would buy it if I saw it.
